This is our custom Ableton template that has been purposefully created for mixing, with everything you might need to mixdown your track to a high standard. 
 
What it includes:
 Every track (Audio only) mapped out and grouped according to what they are - reference tracks, drums, vocals, bass, synths and FX.
-  Preloaded effects including EQ's on every channel and a basic master channel strip.
- Additional sends and returns strips including different reverb types (plate, room, hall) and reverb sizes (small, medium, large), different delays, and a compressor for parallel compression.
- Each track set to -10dB to allow for better mixing (Ableton default is 0)
- Locators every 8 bars to help inform arrangement-based mixing decisions.
- Custom Key mappings allowing for an improved workflow. Keys mapped to reference track channels (1-3), global record (r), and high pass filter(f) / mono utility reference (m) on master tracks.
 
Project file uses all Ableton plugins with only a few third-party plugins by Valhalla for the reverb sends/returns channels. These plugins are optional and can be replaced with any reverb plugin.
 
How do I use it?
While this template might have many unique possibilities, we personally utilise it when we are ready to mix down our tracks. The temptation to mix everything within the same original project is there, but committing to a separate mixdown process and exporting your stems into a new session is always a good habit to get into.
 
This template allows you to make those last few basic mixing decisions with minimal distractions, focusing on just the things that matter. There are also different send & return options for you to enhance your sounds, though try not to overdo it with these. If something needs to be majorly altered by an effect, then consider tweaking this in the original project. Finally, there is space for you to drop reference tracks, which you can use to  compare how your own mix, stands up against a professionally produced one.
