If you struggle to keep your melodies/chords in key with the rest of your track, or your simply someone who never wants to think about whether something is in key again, then this Stay In Key MIDI rack might just help.
 
What is it?
This rack basically says what it does on the tin. It is designed to keep your musical elements in key with the rest of your track, allowing you to get on with the fun parts of making music without worrying about note clashes. 
 
How to install and use this rack?
To install, navigate to your user library and locate where your MIDI Effect racks are stored. Then drop this .adg file in that folder and open it in your next session. 
 
Its use is fairly simple. Load the rack as one of the first effects onto any MIDI channel that would play melodic patterns. Choose which key you would like the track to be in by adjusting the first macro. Next, choose between scale types of Major & Minor by moving the 2nd macro hard left for major or hard right for minor. Now, any pattern on that channel whether drawn in or played should be in key. Any selected notes that aren't in the chosen scale, should by default jump to one that is. Any questions let us know.
 
Other information...
The rack uses only Ableton's native MIDI effects (specifically its Scale effect) and should open in most versions of Ableton. 
We have included just the basic major and minor scale types in this rack.  Feel free to make design edit suggestions if you think this rack could be improved or let us know if you want some more scale types included.
