Sometimes while we are in the loop stage we want some creative ways to spice up certain elements of our mix or make them stand out a bit more. The bass is an element that can often be processed in a pretty basic way each time with some EQ, Compression, Saturation etc. Thats where creative processing tools like the Glitch Texture Bass Djokoder might come in handy. 
 
What is it?
This audio effect rack takes inspiration from a technique shown by producer Djoko during a tutorial (found here). This technique uses multiple channels and is one that this rack attempts to simplify. In this video, artist Djoko creatively applies a vocoder to his bassline that his being influenced by the transients of an external rhythmic loop. By doing this it allows him to add depth and texture to what otherwise might become a boring bass loop. This is also a technique that producers like Sweely also uses in their tracks to create texture from specific elements. 
 
How to install and use this rack?
To install, navigate to your user library and locate where your Audio Effects racks are stored. Then drop this .adg file in that folder and open it in your next session.
 
Its use is slightly awkward so here is our suggestion. Add this audio rack onto a bass channel. To get this to work completely you will need to add another audio track which contains any rhythmic material (drum loops or breaks etc.) Next head to the vocoder on the rack and choose external as carrier and select that new audio track as your source in the audio from section (post effects). Now you should hear some form of added texture to the original bass material. Finally adjust the settings on the vocoder to taste and in addition experiment with the other effects like freq shifter and phaser etc. See linked tutorial above for a demo of this rack. Other information...
The rack uses only Ableton's native  effects. This rack should open in most versions of Ableton.
