Mastering can be a complex art to learn and one that can often be expensive if using external mastering engineers. Often we might want to do a basic master ourselves so that we can send our tracks to labels or test our tracks by playing them out on different sound systems. This rack allows us to master our tracks to a basic level for these purposes but does not entirely replace the mastering process.

What is it?

This basic master audio rack is a recreation of a rack inspired by producer Mancini during a tutorial which can be found here. In this video, artist Mancini simplifies the process of mastering with a simple mastering rack using basic elements that can be found in any DAW.

How to install and use this rack?

To install, navigate to your user library and locate where your Audio Effects racks are stored. Then drop this .adg file in that folder and open it in your next session.

Its use is fairly simple but here is our suggestion. Add this audio rack onto the master channel. Once loaded, simply dial in the settings of the EQ and threshold of the compressor to taste. See linked tutorial above for a demo of this rack. Any questions let us know.

Other information...

The rack uses only Ableton's native  effects (EQ, Compressor and Limiter). This rack should open in most versions of Ableton.
